Tracking system supports operations of repair and maintenance company

Apex Lifts is a family‑owned lift manufacturer and maintenance company based in Sidcup, Kent, operating across London and the South since 1970 with around 125 staff and a mixed fleet of 66 vehicles. Faced with lone‑worker safety concerns, the need to monitor jobs and timesheets, and pressure to cut fuel and operating costs while improving response times to breakdowns and passenger trap‑ins, Apex needed a way to boost efficiency and compliance across its field operations.

Since 2007 Apex has deployed the Quartix vehicle tracking system fleet‑wide, using live Google Maps tracking, Address Search for nearest‑engineer dispatch, route maps and charts, and detailed timesheet and mileage reports. The system has improved responsiveness and customer service, enabled route optimisation and fuel savings, ensured accurate private‑mileage reporting for the Inland Revenue, and delivered greater health & safety and regulatory confidence — benefits Apex continues to apply by fitting trackers to new vehicles.
