Sheffield Community Transport (SCT) is a charitable organisation providing door-to-door minibus services for elderly and disabled people across Sheffield since 1985, with over 100 staff, 40 volunteers and a fleet that grew from 2 to 49 minibuses. As the fleet expanded, SCT needed a reliable way to track vehicles so they could quickly inform anxious passengers of arrival times and monitor driver behaviour without continually phoning drivers.

SCT implemented Quartix vehicle tracking—web- and app-accessible live tracking using GPS with Google Maps, Street View and traffic data—plus Quartix Driving Style reports that benchmark speed, braking and acceleration against other drivers. The system lets staff pinpoint vehicles in real time, reassure passengers, identify harsh driving to reduce tyre wear and fuel use, and optimise routes; SCT reports fuel savings of 7–8% and improved punctuality and operational efficiency.
