The customer, WM (Waste Management), faced a challenge when its sustainability team initiated a redesign of its microsite on Next.js. Midway through the project with vendor Quarry Design Group, a new requirement emerged to also maintain legacy CorePHP pages with their original URLs, all without increasing the project's budget or timeline.

Quarry developed an innovative dual-stack architecture using creative nginx configuration to seamlessly route requests between the new Next.js site and the legacy system. The solution was implemented on schedule and with no added budget, successfully launching for WM's 90-year milestone. The result was a modern, high-performance website that preserved all historical content without disrupting any existing links.
