A Quark Case Study
Louis Vuitton, the iconic luxury leather goods brand with more than 18,000 employees and 465 stores, needed to modernize internal communications by converting a paper newsletter and other marketing materials into a branded, interactive digital format for iPad-equipped employees and stores worldwide. Key challenges included preserving the brand’s visual standards, enriching content with multimedia, and rolling out a secure, easy-to-use app that integrated with existing systems.
Using Quark Publishing Platform, App Studio and QuarkXPress, Louis Vuitton launched an iPad app (pilot completed in under eight weeks) featuring a kiosk and offline library, PDFs and interactive publications with video and slideshows, dynamic search, and update/new indicators plus a public mode for client access. The solution delivered a rich internal newsletter and access to sales sheets, brochures and catalogues, enabled a commercial iPhone deployment, and supported a second Quark installation in Asia for mirroring and disaster recovery.
