StorNext Helps Leading Broadcaster Transition to All-Digital Infrastructure

nc+, Poland’s leading pay-TV platform, moved from a slow, manual videotape workflow to an all-digital, file-based operation to support up to 180 channels (including 50 HD), speed production, and reduce space and operational costs. The tape-based process required linear editing, manual ingest-to-playout and tape retrieval for reuse, creating bottlenecks for post-production and multi-platform delivery.

nc+ and integrator SAD deployed Quantum StorNext (file system, Storage Manager, AEL6000 archives) integrated with tools like Avid and Telestream Vantage to create a tiered, transparent storage pool (200 TB nearline plus tape) with timecode-based Partial File Retrieval. The new system delivers assets in under a minute in many cases, cuts disk needs, automates archiving and transcoding, reclaimed tape storage space, and boosted overall production productivity by about 30% while managing more than 1.5 PB of content and remaining highly scalable.
