Security Integrator Finds High-Performance, High-Density Video Upgrade Solution for Eastland Shopping Center

PMT Security Systems was engaged to help Eastland Shopping Center replace an aging mix of roughly 300 analog and low-res digital cameras with a modern, analytics-ready surveillance platform. The upgrade required about 600 high-resolution IP cameras, 90 days of retention, advanced recognition and tracking, and had to fit into the shopping center’s existing data‑center footprint and budget—creating a major storage and streaming performance challenge.

PMT implemented an open-architecture solution combining Axis IP cameras, Milestone VMS, RetailNext analytics and Quantum StorNext software with QXS‑5600 disk, packing 1 PB of capacity into eight rack units. The deployment met high ingest and streaming demands, supported advanced analytics, fit the site constraints, has run reliably with minimal administration, and provided a scalable, cost‑effective solution PMT now recommends to other customers.
