RT Builds Multi-Language Broadcast News Facility on StorNext-Based Workflow

RT built a 28,000 m² broadcast and production center in Moscow to support its English, Spanish and Arabic channels and a global newsroom of more than 1,000 media professionals. The challenge was to enable real-time collaboration across three language-specific operations while supporting HD ingest, multi-platform distribution and a shared archive so teams could quickly find and repurpose content without duplicating storage or workflows.

OKNO-TV implemented Quantum StorNext as the unified content workflow and storage platform, deploying metadata gateway appliances, a central storage pool fed by 24 ingest servers and integration with Dalet, Adobe/Apple editors and other broadcast tools. The solution manages nearly a petabyte and 40,000+ hours of programming, automates transfers between central and studio workspaces, supports high-performance Fibre Channel and cost-efficient LAN access, and delivered faster access, simpler deployment, reduced overhead and reliable multi-studio sharing.
