B.A.G. Films & Media, operator of the 24×7 News 24 channel, faced mounting storage and workflow challenges as 5–7 TB of video was produced daily. Manual tape repositories, no browser-based search and slow retrieval times were hindering fast turnaround, increasing costs and threatening the channel’s ability to get to air ahead of competitors.

The company deployed Quantum StorNext File System, StorNext Storage Manager and a Scalar i500 tape library integrated with its existing Final Cut Server, Omneon servers and Aveco automation—going live in four days.
