Park Road - Customer Case Study

Park Road Post Production, a premier facility in Wellington, New Zealand built by filmmakers for filmmakers, faced rapidly growing data from digital and 3D productions—typically 6–12 TB per shoot day and up to 20 TB on busy days—with a strict 12-hour delivery window. Its legacy archive and tape systems could not scale or deliver the throughput required, risking slow turnarounds and operational overload.

Park Road implemented Quantum StorNext with StorNext Storage Manager and a Scalar i6000 tape library (LTO‑5), extending its SAN for virtualized tape storage and automated tiering. The upgrade enabled concurrent high‑speed access for editing systems, automated nearline and long‑term archiving, and easy growth to multi‑petabyte capacity; as a result Park Road routinely processes multiple terabytes in hours, handles peaks above 20 TB/day, preserves existing creative workflows, and scales without adding staff.
