OSI Food Solutions Finds the Right Recipe for Multi-site Backup with DXi Appliances

OSI Food Solutions, part of the global OSI Group with roughly 20,000 employees across 50+ production sites, faced rapidly growing data volumes that outstripped legacy tape backups. Slow, complex tape processes were extending into production windows and, after heavy server virtualization, backups again strained capacity and time at multiple locations.

Quantum DXi physical and virtual deduplication appliances (DXi3500/4500/6700 and DXi V1000) plus Backup Exec were deployed with automated multi-site replication and bandwidth controls. The solution halved backup windows, cut backup storage needs by more than 85%, delivered deduplication rates up to 155:1, sped restores, eliminated much tape handling and manual error, and provided scalable, automated protection across sites.
