MTI Film, a leading Hollywood post‑production and film restoration house, needed to move to a 100% 4K, high‑resolution workflow while managing massive incoming data (often 6–8 TB per day per project) and providing immediate, shared access for editors and producers. Their existing RAID‑based SAN couldn’t scale or deliver the reliability and fast, concurrent access required for multiple episodic TV projects.

MTI deployed Quantum StorNext 5 with QXS SSDs and Lattus extended online object storage, managed by StorNext Storage Manager and metadata appliances, to create a tiered, highly available workflow. The solution sustained real‑time 4K streams, delivered ~350–370 MB/s access, scaled seamlessly to petabytes without RAID complexity, automated migrations between tiers, and enabled faster client access and project‑based provisioning—improving reliability, turnaround, and revenue opportunities.
