Leading Broadcasting Company Reduces Transmission Time by 10x With StorNext M440

Korean Broadcasting System (KBS), South Korea’s national public broadcaster, needed to replace aging storage to support more programming, higher-resolution UHD formats and larger file sizes. Their existing NAS-based setup created bottlenecks and slowed file transmission and collaboration across production and editing teams.

KBS deployed Quantum StorNext 5 with a StorNext M440 metadata appliance (Storage Manager option), providing SAN-based high-performance file sharing, policy-driven tiering, and compatibility with existing StorNext deployments. The new platform simplified deployment and support, improved stability and collaboration, and cut transmission times by as much as 10x while making it easier to scale storage.
