Indonesian Media Giant Accelerates Workflow with StorNext

MNC Group, Indonesia’s largest free-to-air broadcaster (RCTI, Global TV, MNCTV), needed to consolidate post-production into a single 120-seat system as it migrated from SD to HD. The team required a high-performance, scalable solution that supported large HD files and mixed Mac/PC workflows (Final Cut Pro and Avid), worked with their Brocade SAN/Xsan environment, leveraged existing tape libraries for archiving, and provided an API for a custom media asset management tool.

Quantum’s StorNext software with an M660 metadata appliance, QXS-1200 RAID arrays and MXFserver delivered a SAN-based, cross-platform collaborative workflow with concurrent editing, policy-driven archiving to legacy tape, and a well-defined API for MAM integration. After several months the system reduced time-to-air, saved costs by using existing tape libraries, and provides easy scalability and local support for future HD migration.
