A Quantum Corporation Case Study
Christian Global Network Television (CGNTV) is a multinational broadcaster that produces and reuses hundreds of thousands of hours of programming across multiple regions and languages. After moving from tape to a tapeless workflow, CGNTV found its NAS-based storage could not keep up with concurrent editing and transcoding demands—causing slowdowns, dropped frames, manual archiving and limited scalability as file sizes and global workloads grew.
CGNTV upgraded to a Quantum StorNext SAN with StorNext Storage Manager and an AEL6000-enabled Scalar library, delivering Fibre Channel line‑speed shared storage and automated tape migration. The unified file system lets editors access tape-resident files directly, automates moves between disk and LTO, and scales capacity on demand—cutting production time by 50%, improving collaboration and asset availability, and lowering administration and TCO.
