RAC Outgrows Excel and Switches to Quantrix for International Budgeting

Reiter Affiliated Companies (RAC), a leading supplier of strawberries, raspberries, blueberries and blackberries, faced an unwieldy budgeting process built on more than 566 Excel workbooks that limited them to one-year budgets and generated frequent human errors. To modernize international budgeting and enable multi-year planning, RAC chose Quantrix, adopting Quantrix models and its data-integration capabilities (including direct connections to Cognos).

Quantrix consolidated RAC’s budgeting landscape—cutting 566 workbooks down to about 60 Quantrix models so far and completing roughly 90% of the U.S. rollout—with plans to further standardize to ~50 models. By connecting Quantrix directly to Cognos and using built‑in validations and natural-language formulas, RAC expects large time savings (about three weeks saved on Cognos loading and roughly two months overall), far fewer errors, easier what‑if and multi‑year scenarios, and a simpler, lower‑cost standalone solution from Quantrix.
