Logistics Capital & Strategy (LogCapStrat) is a Washington, DC–based financial advisory and strategy firm serving transportation and logistics clients. Their challenge was rapidly modeling and analyzing very large, multi-dimensional datasets (origins/destinations, modes, time, weight, shipments, revenue, etc.) and running detailed what‑if scenarios—tasks that were slow and costly in SQL and Excel. To solve this, LogCapStrat adopted Quantrix, using Quantrix Modeler and the DataNav component to bring together disparate data sources.

Using Quantrix, LogCapStrat fused an SQL database of more than 20 million records with internal and market data into multi-dimensional models, added scenario dimensions that repopulated entire models, and produced visual visualizations (e.g., scatter plots across hundreds of lanes). Quantrix enabled business analysts to manipulate large datasets without large programming teams, accelerated decision timelines so a private equity client could make a substantial, profitable investment, and helped LogCapStrat identify actionable competitive opportunities with far less staff and development time.
