Develped solution to extract evidence from medical reports for side effects of medical implants

Leading Medical Device Company worked with Quantiphi to help a law firm’s medical devices practice automate evidence collection from patient medical histories for pregnancy prevention implant side-effect claims. The team had been manually reviewing around 100 pages per patient, which caused low accuracy, long turnaround times, and repeated errors.

Quantiphi built a web-based solution using AWS services such as Amazon Textract, S3, Lambda, SQS, SNS, RDS, and DynamoDB to convert medical document images into searchable PDFs, run OCR and NLP-based evidence extraction, validate reports, and generate claim forms in PDF format. The result reduced manual review from about 100 pages to 4, cut processing time from weeks to a few hours, and improved accuracy from 30–35% to about 80%.
