American Multinational Beverage Manufacturing Company - Customer Case Study

Quantiphi worked with American Multinational Beverage Manufacturing Company, an American multinational beverage manufacturer and retailer of nonalcoholic beverage concentrates and syrups, to improve its loyalty reward redemption process. The customer’s existing program required users to manually enter pin codes from bottle caps, and it wanted a faster, more seamless smartphone-based proof-of-purchase experience.

Quantiphi built a computer vision proof-of-purchase solution using AWS services, TensorFlow, Python, OpenCV, and a lightweight CNN/SqueezeNet-based model to read bottle-cap codes on edge devices. The solution delivered a robust model of about 470 KB with expected string accuracy of ~95% and character accuracy above 99.6%, enabling sub-second response times on Android and iOS and making proof-of-purchase submission effortless for consumers.
