WebEx, the global leader in on-demand web collaboration, needed a reliable way to manage vulnerabilities across its distributed infrastructure to meet strict customer privacy expectations and regulatory requirements (WebTrust, SAS-70). Existing open-source and commercial scanners were inaccurate, point-in-time only, and lacked historical trending, leaving WebEx without a process to operationalize vulnerability remediation across roughly 2,000 desktops and thousands of servers.

WebEx piloted and then deployed QualysGuard’s on-demand vulnerability and compliance management service, enabling automated, continuous scans, accurate detection, and comprehensive trend reporting. The solution simplified deployment and ongoing operations, became integral to QA and compliance checks, improved patching visibility and remediation workflows, and helped WebEx maintain its third-party accreditations.
