Visma Drives its Cloud Transformation with Secure Development and Delivery of SaaS Solutions

Visma, a Oslo‑headquartered provider of accounting, payroll and procurement software serving over 600,000 customers across Northern Europe, moved from on‑premises delivery to a SaaS model and needed to strengthen defenses as its attack surface expanded. With around 5,500 employees (including ~2,000 developers) and a hybrid estate of Windows and Linux systems across on‑premises and public cloud, Visma sought automated, organisation‑wide vulnerability detection and fast remediation to protect customer data and support its cloud transformation.

Visma deployed the Qualys Cloud Platform—including Vulnerability Management, Cloud Agent, Threat Protection, Policy Compliance and Security Assessment Questionnaire—to automate continuous scanning, feed findings into developers’ JIRA backlogs, and prioritise critical fixes. The approach produced a complete inventory of ~4,000 servers and ~6,000 clients, accelerated quarterly patch verification from four weeks to four days (80% faster), sped response to critical threats, and strengthened overall security posture and customer confidence in its SaaS offerings.
