Taking Control of Enterprise Security to Keep Europe-Wide Operations Running Smoothly

Office Depot Europe, a leading workplace supplies reseller with about 5,000 employees across Europe, became an independent company after a 2017 divestment and had to build its own IT security capability from scratch. The new security team faced a large, distributed estate with thousands of network‑connected devices and needed accurate asset discovery, continuous vulnerability scanning, and PCI DSS compliance to protect operations and cardholder data.

Working with partner Kahuna, Office Depot Europe deployed the Qualys Cloud Platform (Qualys Vulnerability Manager and Qualys PCI Compliance) in about one week and now continuously discovers and scans ~1,300 IP devices, prioritizes remediation, and aligns patching with scan results. The cloud solution reduced infrastructure overhead, delivered greater visibility and control, enabled PCI compliance reporting, and gave the security team faster, more confident response to evolving threats.
