Sustrans Gets on the Fast Track to Cyber Compliance

Sustrans needed to meet UK government cyber-security requirements, including Cyber Essentials accreditation, in order to win new partnerships with local councils and support its walking and cycling mission. The organization turned to Qualys and its Enterprise TruRisk Platform, along with Qualys Vulnerability Management and Qualys Web Application Scanning, to gain visibility into its expanding IT estate and manage vulnerabilities more effectively.

Working with Qualys, Sustrans deployed cloud agents and automated patching to scan more than 1,100 endpoints, uncover thousands of vulnerabilities, and reduce network strain. Within weeks, Qualys Patch Management remediated two-thirds of the vulnerabilities, including more than half of the highest-severity issues, helping Sustrans achieve Cyber Essentials accreditation within three months and keep patching effort to just a few hours per week.
