RightNow Technologies, a leading on-demand CRM provider, needed a more effective way to find and fix network vulnerabilities. Its security team had been using multiple open‑source scanners but faced outdated vulnerability databases, high false positives, no remediation guidance, poor lifecycle reporting, and manual scan scheduling—limitations that made it hard to prove IT security due diligence and meet customers’ compliance expectations.

After evaluating commercial tools, RightNow deployed QualysGuard Vulnerability Management (and QualysGuard PCI) via a SaaS/on‑prem appliance mix to automate discovery, prioritized scanning, remediation tracking, asset grouping, and compliant PCI scans across ~2,700 hosts. The solution delivered timely, accurate reports used for audits and customer assurance, reduced wasted effort on false positives and unnecessary services, helped harden systems and standardize gold images, and supported compliance and new business wins.
