Connect Group is a UK distribution company with over 6,000 employees and a growing portfolio of digital services (including an online ebook platform). As the business shifted to a more digital model, security processes were inconsistent across divisions, leaving internal systems and web applications exposed and reliant on external providers for vulnerability testing—creating risk to revenue and reputation and a backlog of assets needing attention.

Connect Group deployed the Qualys Cloud Platform (VM and WAS) as a SaaS solution to gain a centralised, business-focused view of 3,000 IPs and 20 web apps. Automated, context-aware scanning and risk-based prioritisation reduced reliance on external pen testers, sped remediation, enabled developer-led app testing, and produced board-level reporting—improving visibility, cutting costs and strengthening the company’s overall security posture.
