PDX Writes a New Prescription on Risk

PDX Inc., a national retail pharmacy software and services provider with about 450 employees, needed a more efficient way to manage risk and compliance and to demonstrate to customers that patient and transaction data were secure. As the healthcare industry digitized, customers increasingly demanded third‑party assurance of HIPAA, PCI and other compliance controls, but PDX’s existing open‑source assessments couldn’t scale or provide the external validation buyers required.

PDX implemented Qualys Vulnerability Management and Qualys Policy Compliance to automate continuous scanning, vulnerability lifecycle management, and policy validation. The tools were deployed quickly, helped the team find and remediate exposures, and produced clear compliance reports on demand—giving PDX reliable, third‑party validation of its security posture and a streamlined, largely automated process for maintaining and demonstrating compliance to customers.
