BSkyB (trading as Sky) is a major UK and Ireland broadcaster serving over 10 million households with 23,000 employees. Facing rapid service growth and a large, heterogeneous IT estate, the company needed to protect customer data, secure web applications and maintain Payment Card Industry (PCI‑DSS) compliance with its acquiring banks.

BSkyB deployed the QualysGuard Cloud Platform—using Vulnerability Management, PCI Compliance and Web Application Scanning—to scan ~20,000 IPs, prioritize critical issues and automate compliance reporting. The integrated, policy-driven approach delivered centralized control, faster remediation, evidence-ready PCI reporting to banks, in‑house web-app testing and reduced man‑hours and costs while scaling to meet ongoing growth.
