Etisalat, a large international telecommunications provider operating across 16 markets, was rapidly expanding its mobile, broadband and hosting services and needed to scale and tighten its IT security and risk-management program. The company relied on a mix of open-source tools, manual audits and an in-house penetration team, but faced resource constraints, difficulty tracking who assessed which assets and when, and a pressing need to demonstrate PCI DSS compliance for its payment gateways.

Etisalat deployed QualysGuard’s on-demand vulnerability-management service to automate asset discovery, scheduled scans, remediation tracking and reporting, and to group assets by business unit for delegated assessments. The result was faster, more accurate audits (reducing false positives), easier PCI reporting, measurable time savings for the security team and centralized, scalable control of vulnerability and risk management across its expanding infrastructure.
