Cargotec charts a more secure course for its business operations

Cargotec, a leading provider of cargo and load handling solutions, needed a better way to manage vulnerabilities across thousands of IT assets while supporting its move to cloud and more data-driven services. After evaluating vendors, Cargotec chose Qualys VMDR to help start small, scale over time, and gain accurate visibility into security risks across its global environment.

With Qualys VMDR, Cargotec deployed vulnerability scanning across 11,000 workstations and about 1,000 on-premises servers, using scanners and Qualys Cloud Agents to refresh asset security data every four hours. Qualys helped Cargotec identify significant threats, prioritize remediation, and validate patching by its IT support provider, resulting in a major improvement over four months: active vulnerabilities dropped significantly and issues per asset fell from 100 to 35.
