The customer, EU Bank, faced challenges in test data management, including a lack of a centralized process, inefficient data discovery for testers, and security concerns for its offshore teams. This resulted in significant effort and time being spent on data tasks after each test environment rebuild. To address this, the bank partnered with vendor Qualitrix to define new test data management goals focused on optimizing QA effort and enhancing offshoring.

Qualitrix implemented a two-stage solution for EU Bank. First, production data was anonymized using scripts and stored procedures to maintain referential integrity while securing sensitive information. Second, completely artificial test data was created to cover all key scenarios for secure offshore access. This solution allowed Qualitrix to provide timely test data support, restore systems efficiently after a rebuild, and, most importantly, ensure the offshore team had access only to artificial data, thereby improving security and the offshoring ratio.

EU Bank
