Fraser Papers, one of the largest producers of printing and publishing paper products, needed a better way to handle mission-critical documents at its Maine facility. The company had been using AFP on System i, but wanted a solution that could print on multiple printers, work with Hewlett-Packard printers, and create more professional-looking forms without requiring duplicate form designs for fax and print.

Fraser Papers chose Quadrant Software’s Formtastic and Checks Module to support forms, checks, and automated fax delivery integration with FastFax. The software ran entirely on the System i with no additional hardware, let Fraser design a purchase order form in 2 to 3 hours, and after three days of training the team felt it knew the product inside and out. Fraser had five form types in production and planned to move invoicing and inventory control into Formtastic within three months, while also gaining secure check printing, audit logs, and minimal maintenance.
