Fairbanks North Star Borough School District, a district serving 32 schools and 16,000 students, needed to streamline purchasing and reduce excess paperwork. In early 1997, it tested three automated fax products and chose Quadrant Software’s FastFax because the team was responsive and knowledgeable, including about integration with JD Edwards World.

Quadrant Software implemented FastFax for rapid delivery of purchase orders, bid solicitations, bid award notices, and general correspondence. The district says it faxes 80% of purchase orders and 90% of bid solicitations, saves at least 2 hours a day of labor, and reduces postage, pre-printed forms, and mailing work. Purchase orders now go out overnight and reach suppliers the next morning instead of taking about two weeks by mail.
