National Healthcare Insurance Company, a major American health insurer serving employers and individuals, faced a critical challenge: its brief annual enrollment period left little time for traditional direct-mail testing, and years of A/B and multivariate tests hadn’t beaten the control or driven growth. The insurer engaged Quad and its virtual testing platform, Accelerated Insights, to get fast, actionable results before print deadlines.

Quad combined the client’s national, regional and competitor campaigns into a single test pool and ran Accelerated Insights’ 60‑day virtual tests to evaluate thousands of headlines, formats, copy and CTAs without mailing physical pieces. The platform—97% accurate and about 10% of the cost of traditional testing—predicted a 19.1% lift in response, delivered a top-performing headline one week before going to print, and Quad scheduled additional AI tests to further optimize future campaigns.
