Zühlke Engineering helps Enable Rapid Development of Low Noise Digital Laser Control

Zühlke Engineering worked with Toptica Photonics AG to commercialize a diode laser control technology that needed to combine low-noise operation with an intuitive touchscreen interface. The challenge was to adapt the controller’s operating concept for touch use while maintaining a solid, extensible architecture for both routing UI and measurement UI.

Using Qt application development framework, including Qt Quick, Zühlke rapidly built a modern multi-touch UI and reused parts of the existing PC interface where possible. The result was a more convenient and functional user experience, validated through ongoing usability testing, while also reducing development effort by plugging in many existing modules and minimizing technical and performance risk.
