Witekio Helps Evoca Group Re-Engineer Their Top-of-the-Line Vending Machines
Evoca Group, a leading multinational in out-of-home coffee machines and payment solutions, needed to modernize its vending machine platform. Its legacy software was becoming difficult to maintain, upgrade, and adapt to evolving technologies, and there was no standard code base shared across the machines. Qt was used as part of the new platform effort to support the customer interface and application layer.
Qt helped Evoca Group and Witekio re-engineer a next-generation vending machine on NXP i.MX6 DualLite hardware. Using Qt Quick and QML, they built a fully customizable 10" HD touchscreen UI on a Linux Yocto-based system, with support for WiFi, Bluetooth, multimedia, and video decoding. The result was a more intuitive user experience and a reusable software architecture designed to make future Evoca products easier to implement with the same code base.
