A Qt Case Study
Veriskin is a medical device startup focused on non-invasive skin cancer screening. The company needed a fast, low-cost way to help detect cancerous skin growths early, using a handheld device with a clear user interface on a small display. Qt was used to support the device’s UI development with Qt Quick and QML.
Qt helped Veriskin and its partner Witekio build an elegant, responsive interface and streamline development across Windows and Linux. The solution contributed to a device that can identify whether a skin growth is cancerous in about two minutes, with reported 100% sensitivity and 96.7% specificity, while also helping reduce unnecessary biopsies and dermatologist visits. Veriskin estimates potential savings to the U.S. healthcare industry and insurers at $3.2 billion.
