Topcon Agriculture Group saves 10 hours per build with Qt automated testing

Qt helped Topcon Agriculture Group, a manufacturer of agricultural GPS and console display systems, to overcome the challenge of time-consuming manual field testing for their Qt-based embedded software.

The solution implemented by Qt was the Squish automated testing suite. This allowed Topcon to develop nearly 1,000 automated tests, which are now run nightly and save 10 hours of manual testing per software build. These automated tests, which cover a third to half of their required testing, have prevented bugs from reaching the field and significantly improved development morale. Qt's tools also enabled Topcon to automate support software and integrate testing into a global, 24-hour development cycle.
