A Qt Case Study
Skyguide, a provider of air navigation services for Switzerland, needed to automate testing for a diverse range of applications, including a critical flight radar system built with Qt. Their challenge was to conduct comprehensive end-to-end integration testing across different platforms like Linux and Windows, often without access to all the source code.
The solution implemented by Qt's Squish provided a unified test automation framework with multi-platform support. It enabled advanced techniques like optical character recognition and object recognition to thoroughly test complex flight display rules, making it impossible to test manually. As a result, Skyguide significantly streamlined its testing process, reduced its needed framework down to one tool, and empowered both technical and non-technical team members to participate in test creation through a Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) approach.
