Case Study: Panasonic Avionics delivers immersive inflight entertainment with Qt

A Qt Case Study

Panasonic Avionics Inflight Entertainment is built with Qt

Panasonic Avionics, a leader in in-flight entertainment and communications for commercial aircraft, needed a way to deliver engaging interactive experiences across many different form factors, from handsets and gamepads to seatback and first-class displays. The company also wanted to improve certification workflows for aircraft wiring while ensuring strong performance and a “wow factor” for passengers. Qt was chosen as the development framework for these applications.

With Qt, Panasonic Avionics built its inflight entertainment systems using C++ and QML, allowing the team to develop once and deploy across multiple screen sizes and devices. Qt helped Panasonic skip much of the underlying technical complexity and focus on design, usability, and close collaboration with airlines. The result was a faster, more flexible development process and a richer passenger experience now used by over five million passengers every year.
