Merlincryption Chose Qt to Move from a Software-Based Solution Written in C# to a More Secure Hardware-Based Application Written in C++

MerlinCryption needed to move its security product from a software-based C# solution to a more secure hardware-based application, and chose Qt to help build the MerlinSafe USB experience. The company also needed cross-platform support, a strong GUI, and a faster development process for the virtual keyboard and other user interfaces.

Using Qt’s GUI and API tools, MerlinCryption built a portable, secure C++ application for MerlinSafe that works on Windows and Mac OS X, with future support planned for Linux and other operating systems. Qt helped the team save over four weeks of development time and cut time-to-market by two to three months, while enabling a highly user-friendly, drag-and-drop-driven interface and stronger device security.
