Hiri, a Dublin-based start-up, set out to build a next-generation enterprise email client designed to reduce email overload and improve communication habits in large companies. Working with Qt, Hiri used Qt and QML to create a modern mail client with features such as navigation, calendar syncing, event planning, and Active Directory compatibility.

With Qt, Hiri was able to build and maintain a single codebase across Windows, Linux, and Mac OS X, lowering development effort and maintenance overhead. Qt also positioned Hiri to extend the same technology to mobile platforms later, including Android, iOS, and Windows 10 devices, helping the company cut development time and costs by avoiding separate platform-specific teams.
