Training doctors to diagnose heart conditions with world's most accurate 3D virtual heart

Heartworks, a creator of a 3D virtual heart ultrasound simulator for medical training, faced a challenge with its existing rigid software framework. Their small team at Glassworks needed a more flexible solution to overhaul the user interface and efficiently adapt the product for a growing global market. They chose the Qt framework to address these development constraints.

By adopting Qt, the vendor, the team rebuilt the UI using QML, which drastically improved design flexibility and the developer workflow. This change reduced the time to modify a UI element from two days to just 10-15 minutes. Furthermore, Qt's internationalization tools accelerated language translations, being three to four times faster than other options and contributing to an estimated 10-20% project cost savings.
