Parker Hannifin Has Created a Tool Based on Qt Allowing OEMs to Consolidate a Machine's UIs Into One Single Display

Parker Hannifin, a corporation specializing in motion and control technologies, faced the challenge of reducing the number of displays in machinery cabins. Their goal was to create an application-based system that would allow their OEM customers to consolidate several machine user interfaces into a single display. This required a development tool that was both powerful and simple for machine builders to use.

The Qt Consulting team worked with Parker Hannifin to develop the Parker Application Designer. This software development tool, built using QML and components like Boot2Qt and Qt Creator, provides a graphical editor for OEMs to layout user interfaces and manage communication. The solution provided a solid software base for Parker, which resulted in a wow-effect due to QML’s ease-of-use and efficiency, successfully allowing for the consolidation of machine UIs.
