Medec, a medical device company specializing in anesthesia and critical care solutions, needed to develop a sophisticated and highly reliable user interface for its new ventilator systems. The challenge was to create an easy-to-use software UI for controlling advanced features that would ensure equipment reliability and patient safety. They chose to build this solution using the Qt framework.

By utilizing Qt Quick and working with Qt Professional Services, Medec developed the Puretouch UI. This solution provided a fluid, high-performance touchscreen interface that consolidated all critical information and controls, eliminating the need for physical rotary knobs. The Qt framework enabled code reuse, allowing the software to be ported to macOS and Windows for demonstrations. The result is a best-in-class user experience for a device that safely supports 25,000 patients daily worldwide.
