Case Study: RGNT achieves automotive-grade motorcycle HMI with Qt Group

A Qt Group Case Study

Preview of the RGNT Case Study

Bound to disrupt the motorcycle realm with game-changing innovation

RGNT, a Swedish electric motorcycle manufacturer, wanted to create an automotive-grade digital dashboard for its bikes but faced performance issues with its initial prototype. They needed a robust and reliable human-machine interface (HMI) that could provide riders with clear, real-time information for safety without distraction. They turned to vendor Qt for its framework to build this critical system.

The solution implemented using Qt enabled a small development team to build a high-performance, feature-rich HMI from scratch in less than a year. The Qt framework allowed for an agile workflow where developers could design on a PC and deploy changes to the actual motorcycle hardware with just a few clicks for real-time testing. The result is a state-of-the-art 7-inch display that offers advanced navigation, over-the-air updates, and complete vehicle control, giving RGNT a significant competitive advantage with a UI that is far more advanced than typical motorcycle clusters.
