Qstream Helps Charles Darwin University Innovate its Clinical Sciences Programs

Charles Darwin University (CDU), a top Australian research university with large first‑year Anatomy and Physiology cohorts, needed a better way to reinforce critical clinical content and quickly identify student knowledge gaps—especially for a substantial off‑campus student population that can feel isolated. Instructors sought an innovative, scalable approach to boost retention and engagement across its healthcare programs.

CDU adopted Qstream’s mobile, gamified knowledge‑reinforcement platform—branded “The Game of Brains”—deploying scenario‑based challenges to 518 students in team competitions, with real‑time analytics to spotlight group and individual weaknesses. The program translated in‑app performance into course points and produced strong outcomes: nearly 99% student satisfaction, 98.9% would recommend Qstream, 98.1% wanted it for future clinical studies, and more than 95% rated it “effective” or “very effective” for retaining course information, prompting plans to expand the initiative.
