Lehigh Valley Health Network’s Health Spectrum Pharmacy Services operates four hospital-based outpatient locations serving Allentown and the greater Lehigh Valley and must support a fast-growing region plus some 15,000 employees. Faced with high prescription volumes (one location fills over 1,000 prescriptions a day) and a mix of retail, infusion, HME and expanding specialty services, the network turned to QS/1 for an integrated pharmacy management solution, including NRx, POS, SystemOne, ShipRx, IVR and a Host‑Remote configuration.

QS/1 implemented a tightly integrated suite—NRx with POS, SystemOne, ShipRx and IVR running on a Host‑Remote server—that automated refills, adjudication (InstantFill), shipping and inventory tracking. The result: dramatically improved throughput and inventory control, automation that saved staff from handling “hundreds of thousands” of calls, tens of thousands of prescriptions shipped via ShipRx, reliable multi-site management (one server for all locations) and rapid on‑site recovery support from QS/1, enabling the pharmacy to efficiently handle its high volumes and support 15,000 employees.
