A QPR Software Case Study

Preview of the Laguna Verde Nuclear Power Plant Case Study

Mexico’s biggest nuclear power plant enters the BSC Hall of Fame with QPR powered strategy management system

Laguna Verde Nuclear Power Plant, the largest nuclear facility in Mexico, sought to transition from a reactive operational approach to one driven by a clear, long-term strategy. To achieve this, the plant partnered with vendor QPR Software to implement a comprehensive Strategy Management System, utilizing the QPR Suite including QPR Metrics and QPR ProcessDesigner, based on the Balanced Scorecard methodology.

The solution involved developing a strategy map, aligning the entire organization with new objectives, and implementing QPR's tools to model over 500 indicators for real-time monitoring and reporting. As a result, the plant achieved total strategic alignment, met its key performance indicator targets within the first year, and was elevated from Level 3 to Level 2 of excellence by the World Association of Nuclear Operators (WANO). Laguna Verde's successful execution of its strategy with QPR Software was recognized with induction into the Palladium Balanced Scorecard Hall of Fame.
