How Y Combinator App Fitia solved Infrastructure complexity with Qonversion

Fitia, a nutrition app launched in Peru in 2019 and later accepted into Y Combinator, needed a better way to manage its in-app subscriptions as user growth increased. Its co-founder had originally built the subscription infrastructure manually, but the team ran into verification issues, customer complaints, and cases where subscribers lost premium access after reinstalling the app. Fitia turned to Qonversion to simplify subscription management and improve the in-app purchase experience.

With Qonversion, Fitia set up and tested in-app subscriptions in just a day or two, compared with weeks for its in-house solution. Qonversion provided server-side receipt validation to ensure accurate subscription status and prevent fraudulent purchases, while also giving Fitia analytics on revenue, cohorts, LTV, conversion, and country-level performance. As a result, Fitia scaled subscriptions on a stable infrastructure, improved decision-making with clearer data, and reported a 10x year-over-year revenue increase.
