A Qnnect Case Study
Vassar Brother’s Medical Center faced a major challenge during the expansion of its Poughkeepsie hospital when, after fabrication had begun, a last-minute design revision required adding an entire eighth floor to the building. This unexpected change risked significant schedule delays and cost overruns. The project's connection engineer, Meyer Borgman Johnson, utilized the Qnect software platform to address this urgent need.
Qnect enabled the engineering team to rapidly respond to the revision. The vendor engineered 500 new, skewed structural joints in just 11 minutes, a process that would conventionally take about three weeks. This speed mitigated schedule impact and avoided supplemental costs for the customer. Overall, Qnect helped save over $100,000 and up to eight weeks on the project, proving essential in managing the critical change.
