Qnect helps regional medical center reshape project after unexpected design changes

Vassar Brothers Medical Center faced a significant challenge during a $500 million expansion when a major redesign required adding an entire eighth floor to the building after fabrication had already begun. This last-minute change threatened to cause costly delays and rework. The project team, including connection engineer MBJ, turned to the vendor Qnect and its QuickQnect software service to manage this critical revision.

Using the Qnect platform, the engineering for 500 new, complex skewed connections was completed in just 11 minutes, a task that would have taken weeks with conventional methods. This speed was essential in mitigating schedule impacts. For the initial phase of the project, Qnect had also connected 4,300 tons of steel in 37 minutes, saving over $100,000 and shaving as much as eight weeks off the timeline, demonstrating its vital role in the project's overall efficiency and success.
